Kingstone C. Shih, D.D.S. 

Dr. Kingstone Shih received his BA in biological science from UC Berkeley, his DDS from UC San Francisco School of Dentistry, and his certificate of endodontics from Temple University.  He is a past president of the Mid-Peninsula Dental Society, assistant clinical professor at UCSF dental school, clinical consultant with the VA Palo Alto hospital dental program, and has clinical privileges at Stanford Hospital, Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital, and El Camino Hospital.  In his spare time he enjoys personal fitness, travel, and cooking.  

 

Michelle C. Olsen, D.D.S.

Dr. Michelle Olsen grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and Southern California.  She received her BA from the University of California, San Diego.  She graduated in the top 10 from the University of the Pacific Dental School and was TKO and OKU.  She received her specialty certificate in Endodontics from Boston University's Goldman School of Dentistry, and has been with Peninsula Endodontics since 1996.  She is a member of the American Association of Endodontists, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and the Mid-Peninsula Dental Association. She and her husband Erik have two children, and her hobbies include playing the cello and horseback riding.

 

Mehran Fotovatjah, D.D.S.

Dr. Mehran Fotovatjah grew up in the Bay Area and attended San Jose State University.  He received his dental degree with highest honors from University of the Pacific in San Francisco in 1993.   With his interest in endodontics, he then continued and obtained his certificate in advanced graduate studies in endodontics in 1995.  He was a faculty member as an associate clinical professor at Boston University Goldman School of Dentistry.  Dr. Fotovatjah and his wife, Dr. Zahra Falsafi, moved back to the Bay Area in 1998. 

He has been practicing with the Peninsula Endodontics Dental Group since May 1998.  He became a Board diplomat in the field of endodontics in 2001.  He is an active member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Endodontists, California Dental Association, Mid-Peninsula Dental Society, American Board of Endodontics, and College of Board Diplomats, OKU.  Dr. Fotovatjah loves spending time with his two daughters and enjoys swimming, skiing and playing soccer.

 

Erlyn P. Hernandez, D.M.D.

Dr. Erlyn Hernandez received her dental degree at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and a Specialty Certificate in Endodontics from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry.  She also received training in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the University of Michigan in 2000.  She practiced in New Jersey and Pennsylvania before joining Peninsula Endodontics in 2005.  Apart from her US training and license, she also received a dental degree at the University of the Philippines. Dr. Hernandez has done research and published scientific literature in endodontics.  She is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Endodontists, Mid-Peninsula Dental Association, Santa Clara Dental Society, and Peninsula Dental Academy.  

 

Reza Riahi, D.D.S., M.M.S.c.

Dr. Reza Riahi grew up in the Bay Area and has been in practice since 2004. He received baccalaureate degrees in Biochemistry and Systems Physiology from San Jose State University with high honors. After working as a Research Chemist for several years he embarked on a career in dental medicine. Dr. Riahi graduated from the University of the Pacific Dental School with highest honors, earning numerous distinctions in academic, research, and clinical fields. Having focused his interest in Endodontics, he continued his training and completed a three year fellowship in advanced Endodontic education at Harvard University School of Dental Medicine earning a certificate in Endodontics and a Masters in Medical Sciences in the field of Oral Biology. Dr. Riahi conducted three years of research at the distinguished Forsyth Institute in Boston known for its research in oral and craniofacial sciences. He is currently an associate clinical instructor at the Postdoctoral Endodontic division of Harvard School of Dental Medicine and has taught Advanced Head and Neck Anatomy at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Riahi is an active member of the American Association of Endodontists, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and the Massachusetts Dental Society. He cherishes spending time with his wife, Dr. Minaj Naimi, and daughter Nava, and enjoys hiking, camping, traveling, photography, and playing soccer.

 

Ina Kim, D.D.S.

Dr Ina Kim is a native of the Bay Area.  She attended Pomona College in Southern California and received her Bachelors degree in Neuroscience in 2001.  She received her dental degree from the University of Michigan in 2005.  She further advanced her training in dentistry by completing a one year fellowship in Hospital Dentistry at the University of California, San Francisco Dental School.  With her increasing interest in endodontics, she continued and obtained her specialty certificate in endodontics from Temple University in Philadelphia. 

She is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Endodontics, California Dental Association, and the Santa Clara Dental Society.  During her free time she enjoys spending time with family, swimming, hiking, and traveling.
